Happy Birthday

Something I do regularly but you don't get to see that often.
Actual art made with actual, real life pen and paper!
The main reason I don't post them that often is because they are large and detailed and hard to photograph.
This is an image I've done for a friends upcoming 50th birthday.
Someone suggested I should have done 50 little characters and they were 100% correct.
Not sure why it didn't occur to me.
It's always very pleasing to me to see my own work mounted and framed professionally.

Also - I have directed my friends towards this remarkable blog before - Limbolo.
He posted this wonderful image, something I am quite sure my art pals back on the mainland will love as much as I.

Hey Elliot, wow, you've been posting a lot of stuff lately. Loads of eye candy for us. Excellent. Those "brothers" were hilarious. Oh and about my nationality...
I'm Irish, hense knowing all about the great programs from years ago. Ahh yes I can hear the theme tune from the Goodies right now. It's surprising to hear they're touring. Did not know that they were bigger down under. By the way, one of my Scottish friends saw Rolf Harris perform a short while ago. Said it was a blast 'cos the whole audience was in their thirties.

Here's a funny thing about Rolf Harris.
He had a show on when I was a kid where, at the end of each show he'd paint a big mural.
I was about 5 or 6 I suppose.
I didn't like the show one bit and I particlarly disliked the stinky mural he did at the end.
As a kid, whenever I was drawing my dad would always remark that I was just like Rolf Harris, which used to make me very cranky.
My father is not a creative fellow and he assumed he was saying something warm and fuzzy and could never understand what annoyed me.
If he'd told me "That looks like Bugs Bunny" I would have been dead pleased.
Cheers mate!

Well if it's any consolation, my scottish friends were right up at the front taking the piss out of the whole band. Knowing him, I'm sure he did you proud. :)
