Well...I've been there..Is nothing, just a small stumble in the bloody road to earn a crust.
REALLY...Your drawing is gorgeous (And you know I know what I am talking about!!!)
The kiddies I know appreciate character in their books. If it catches them visually that is all that matters. They love to look at pictures. And parents especially like when it doesn't involve violence ;)
sigh........ a frequently heard tale I'm afraid.
You know his work well, but thought I'd take the time to tell you that among my various friends small children Leigh Hobbs 'Old Tom' character is the 'cat of choice'. Must be them tame bold lines no?

Hey everyone - thanks for the support.
Dont' miss the point however - I know the drawing is just fine.
It's the repression of children that bothers me.
Those drawings are similar to a lot of the Sat Morn Cartoons we have in the US. I wonder why the two different aesthetics?

As a child of 30-odd I can definitely say your drawing gladdens my black-little-damien-like heart... if they had their throats cut out.
I'd like to know who these market researchers are talking to. Thick as shit middle income American 'moms' I'm sure.
If market research actually worked no film or book or ad campaign would ever fail.
And yet...
