The Heat

It is incredibly hot in my nation at the moment.
A pal sent me these lovely snaps of a baby koala descending on a bucket of fresh water in someone's backyard.
This is a good indication of the kind of heat we're experiencing because 1) koala's don't often drink water, 2) they're not often awake during the day.

I think you left the number off, mate, but I'm guessing it's either 3 or 5.

I also just noticed how close he is to the people in this shot.

they must be exceedingly docile creatures.....or is it the heat?

It's the heat - it's been like 111 degrees there on and off for weeks.

This is also a baby, which might have something to do with it.

Still adorable....

If I could walk around with it affixed to my shoulder...I just might..

Eeep! Soooo Cute! I want a baby Koala to latch onto me like a backpack.

You can do that and then shove pencils and books down its gullet.

I've never thought of Koalas as being scary creatures, but these pictures make them look frightening to me. It looks thirsty for blood.
