Shockorama

Here's a cheerful little thing I made earlier in the year.
It was for the opening titles for a sophisticated show about literature.

Lovely Feedback

Lindsay Duncanson, the lovely lady who requested my Boxhead and Roundhead films for a family screening at the Star and Shadow Cinema in Newcastle, UK, sent me this lovely email tonight.

Hi Elliot

I just wanted to say thanks again for allowing us to show your films the kids and adults loved them, its always a lively afternoon but your films were really liked they got stacks of laughs and lots question from the kids,
Why is he sad?
Why does he have a fence mouth?
Are they sucking his blood? That kind of thing!

The parents loved the happy melancholy
anyway thanks again

Lovely, huh?
The Star and Shadow has a terrific line up of films for film lovers so if anyone's in the area I'd encourage everyone to get out there and support this great cinema.

Working

This is what I've been working on.
It's finished for me.
I added the audio myself, as I was not given any when it was being produced.

Froggy Went A Courtin' And He Did Ride...

Ani Mates

I have finished up my tenure with the lovely folks at Switch FX which finally gives me the opportunity to catch up with some proper NY animation people.
On Friday I had lunch with the incredibly positive and personable David Levy (below).

Afterwards, I saw Madagascar 2, which had some great moments.
A much better moment was that evening when Rebecca and I finally caught up with the extremely tall and bearded Tim Rauch, one half of Rauch Brothers Animation, future animation juggernauts as far as I'm concerned.
Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture of him, but he pretty much looks like Grizzly Adams after a good scrubbing down.
It was a terrific day - hooray for animation!

Honeymoon In Arizona

Rebecca and I honeymooned in Arizona, specifically, Sedona.
Our rotten little peashooter camera did little to document the thrill of the vast red mountains that look like the Scottish Highlands but in the desert.

These large, circular splats below are called The Cow Pats.
In our jeep (driven by a rugged bushman type whose name I can't recall) was a young couple who were considering getting married out here.
On top of one of those Cow Pats.
Clearly they were insane.
It's filthy and dusty and you can't get there without some kind of sturdy 4WD or a helicopter or a horse.
We assumed she wasn't intending to wear a white dress.

Below is the Grand Canyon.
It is indeed very grand.

Because Arizona doesn't have a coastline, there aren't many fish here.
Instead, people net rocks for their dinner.
This was empty only fifteen minutes earlier - there sure are plenty of rocks in Arizona.

Then we went to Africa!

Here is a fish carved out of a rock and then deep fried.
At least, that's how it tasted.
The food in Arizona was shit!

We rode horsies.
Rebecca had a little horse and I had a big one.
I think they choose the horse based on the size of the rider.
There's a whopping great Frenchman out of frame riding an elephant.

We drove a Mustang across the state - now I am a real American.
Remarkably, it cost only 40 bucks US to fill it up.

On the way back from the Grand Canyon there was a blizzard.
Zero visiblity.
Driving on the other side of the road for the first time ever.
It was hard.

Then we came home.
Hooray for honeymoons!
