I have found a couple more Tove Jansson images for those people who aren't yet sick of me waffling on about her work.
"Who Will Comfort Toffle?".
What a wonderful name for a book.
I have read it, about 25 years ago, and have no recollection if Toffle was ever comforted.

Goo'day, Elliot.
I used to read "Moomin" by Tove Janson as a kid in an Argentinean magazine..The rare sophistication of the drawings amazed me. She painted black suns!...When afterwards I saw UPA animated films, everyting fell into place..These were the artistic universes I wanted to inhabit. Now, more than fifty years later, I am still there. Cheers.
Oscar - I'm so thrilled that you know of her work.
She's a remarkable illustrator and not at all known enough I don't think.
Thanks for dropping past as well!
Cheers.
