Just noticed the link to Tove Jansson there to the right. I was at the Annecy Animation Festival in France a couple of weeks ago and met up with the guys who hold the rights to and are looking to make a new animated Moomins series. I was in geekboy heaven as I read the books religiously as a child (indeed my five year old is reading them now too). Just thought I'd mention it as it's going to be faithful to the books.
As for the Aussie Dollar, I had a friend buy some paintings off me from Oz recently and I was flabbergasted to see the conversion rates. My sympathies!
Jo Bling - I am in fact so unoffended that I can't recall what it may have been that was supposed to have offended me. That's sort of good news about the Jansson books - I guess the proof is in the pudding and if they do a good job then great. There is a not a good track record in the animation industry of translating books to television I do not think. I've barely visited your blog as I don't really have much access at the moment but as soon as I'm settled I'll go have a gander.
Matt C - I am indeed from a great sporting nation, which is why I've been asked to leave. I have been told that there are several folks awaiting my arrival - I can assure you I am deathly boring until I get really drunk, at which point I'm unbearable.
You're welcome, Elliot.
ReplyDeleteNice one.
ReplyDeleteSo you go around the world? Or you are allready around the world?
Any way, good luck
Elliot
